NGO ASKS TO WORK TOGETHER FOR A BETTER MEXICO CITY

In order to achieve a better and sustainable city for the inhabitants of Mexico City, the organization Mejor Ciudad proposed to politicians, businesspeople, and citizens a change of urban paradigm with a vision for the future so that all people may enjoy a safer and more efficient city.

Mexican urbanism joined with different international experiences promotes, through Mejor Ciudad, the establishment of a framework in which principles are seen for planning, development, management, and improvement of the city.

“Mexico City is one of the most diverse metropolises in the world. We consider it appropriate to do a reflection and, in the context of the electoral political situation that the country is experiencing, launch the challenge of reconsidering the urban development vision with a strategic, equitable, sustainable focus with a long-term vision, since currently conditions are not offered for the inhabitants to satisfy their basic needs due to its disordered growth and its bad urban planning,” asserted Carolina Rodríguez, executive director of Mejor Ciudad.
